Patrick Kennelly
Horn
Born in Denton, Texas, in 1974, Patrick Kennelly is currently principal horn of the Symphony of the State of Mexico. He attended the University of North Texas on full scholarship, where he studied horn with William Schamberg and graduated with both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in horn performance.
He has been a member of several orchestras in Texas, including the Richardson Symphony, the Waco Symphony, and the Irving Symphony Orchestra, where he was principal horn for three seasons. He has also participated in several music festivals, among them the Roundtop Festival in Texas and the American Institute of Musical Studies program in Graz, Austria.
He has also been active as a teacher, giving classes in horn in the Dallas, Texas area for several years, and currently is teaching horn and brass chamber music at the Music Conservatory of the State of Mexico in Toluca.
